The designer behind the HUNDO brings over two decades of personal experience at the reloading bench, a journey marked by the observation that many accessories, including loading trays, have historically proven "flawed at best." This extensive background directly informed the design criteria for the HUNDO. Beginning development on various models in 2016, the HUNDO is presented as the refined culmination of this iterative process, embodying what the designer considers the best design to date.
Construction of the HUNDO emphasizes durability and practical utility. It is machined from US-made 6061 Aluminum, a choice of material that underscores its intended longevity and resilience against the wear and tear common in active reloading environments. The block is finished with Type-3 hard anodizing, which not only contributes to its distinctive "cool grey look" but also enhances its resistance to abrasion and chemical exposure.
Key to the HUNDO's functionality are its stepped holes. This design innovation allows the block to securely accommodate both .223 and .308 size cartridges. This versatility is particularly advantageous for precision rifle competitors who may utilize multiple calibers—such as a .223 for training and a 6mm Dasher or 6GT for competition—and require a single, dependable loading solution. A notable benefit of the stepped holes is their ability to support most .308 bottleneck cartridges when inverted, a practical feature for various case preparation steps such as deburring, chamfering, or primer seating.
The HUNDO's 100-round capacity supports efficient batch processing, crucial for building the large, consistent lots of ammunition required for PRS and NRL matches or extensive practice sessions. Further enhancing its practical design, a powder drain hole is centrally located, aiding in bench cleanliness and preventing the accumulation of spilled powder. For stability during critical reloading operations like powder charging or bullet seating, the HUNDO incorporates a set of rubber feet to prevent unwanted sliding on the workbench.
